About Leelanau Christian Neighbors

The Mission of the Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LCN) is to serve residents of Leelanau County by aiding those with inadequate resources.

Leelanau Christian Neighbors does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, familial status, gender, national origin, race or religion. Leelanau Christian Neighbors, founded in 1987, is a non-profit 501c(3) organization with a volunteer work force of more than 200! These volunteers are members of an ecumenically diverse group of thirteen churches located in Leelanau County and other residents of the County.

The LCN elected Board of Directors meets throughout the year to ensure appropriate and responsible planning and management for the organization’s five programs: Food Pantry, Financial Assistance, Blessings in a Backpack, the LCN Baby Pantry and Samaritans’ Closet.

Leelanau Christian Neighbors was founded in 1987 by two Leelanau couples and their pastors. Today numerous secular organizations as well as church congregations in Leelanau County are involved with LCN’s mission of “Helping under-resourced Leelanau residents without regard to race, religion, or sex.”

Our donors, volunteers, and leaders come from all walks of life.
